This summary sets out the key findings from the analysis of responses to the HMIE public consultation School inspections are changing: shape what’s next. The consultation opened on 3 September 2025 and closed on 6 November 2025. There were two different questionnaires, one designed for children and young people and another for other respondents (referred to as the stakeholder questionnaire).
