Introduction to effective practice

Identifying good ideas and approaches is a core part of being an inspector. Sharing your work that's having an impact on children and young people helps to recognise the successes in Scottish education. It also supports quality and improvement within the sectors we inspect across Scotland.

We want this to be truly useful so we’ll continually evaluate this work. We’ll look at ways to improve what we publish and how we share them. We’ll also be expanding this work into the other sectors we inspect. And we’re keen to hear from you about how you want to find out about effective practice we have seen.

Our thanks go to the schools and settings that have worked with us to develop these products. I hope you will find them helpful and that they prompt discussion in your teams and schools.
